Boston Celtics defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 112-109 in game 6 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena to win the team’s sixth NBA title. Playing his last game, Bob Cousy (who had been given a “Day” at Boston Garden on March 7, 1963) flings the ball up toward the rafters at the end of the game.
